BFYC at ACCA
Brighton Festival Youth Choir have officially moved into the Gardner Tower studio at The Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts on the Sussex University campus for our regular term-time rehearsals.
We are delighted with our new creative space and are thoroughly enjoying our rehearsals here.
If you love singing and want to be part of a friendly, musical community, come to BFYC’s Open rehearsal on Wednesday 16th September, 6.30-8.30pm.

One of the leading Youth Choirs in the UK

If you are aged between 11 and 18 years and enjoy singing, we would be delighted to hear from you. There is no formal audition for BFYC. Our Music Director, Juliette Pochin will have an informal chat with you to assess your current vocal range and previous experience. Good sight-reading is not a requirement. You will need to have a love of singing and a commitment to regularly attend rehearsals and take part in concerts.

If you would like to join BFYC but are unsure what it entails why not come along to a rehearsal to see what it is all about, and try out the Youth Choir before joining.

Our regular rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings during termtime from 6.30-8.30 pm at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA), University of Sussex, Falmer, Brighton, BN1 9RA.

Youth Choir Joining Costs

Membership is £180 a year (or £60 termly or £15 monthly). This fee includes the cost of all music and travel outside of the Brighton area. A sibling reduction of 50% is available as is our bursary scheme for those experiencing financial hardship.

When you join the Youth Choir you will be expected to attend weekly rehearsals and to participate in all concerts.

Being a member of BFYC for the past five years has been an absolute joy and privilege. I have been taught so much and have had the opportunity to regularly perform in amazing venues and record for Classic FM and in Abbey Road Studios.
