Brighton Festival Chorus has recently received generous support from the Felicity Belfield Music Trust to provide bursaries for new Tenors aged 18 to 26 who would be interested in joining the Chorus.
The Chorus is always looking for new members who love singing or have played a musical instrument and would like to experience the thrill of singing in a full symphony chorus to try us out. This autumn, we are launching the Felicity Belfield Music Trust Bursary Scheme specifically for Tenors aged 18 to 26 which is worth £500 and includes:
- 4 private singing lessons;
- A year’s subscription to Brighton Festival Chorus; and
- Travel to all of the Chorus’s performances.
BFC meet on Tuesday evenings from 7.15pm-.9.45pm on the University of Sussex campus and have regular ‘Guest Rehearsals’ where anyone interested in joining the Chorus can meet existing members, enjoy an evening’s rehearsal and try us out! The rehearsals provide the perfect opportunity for new Tenors to sample what it is to sing with one of Britain’s leading symphony choruses.
To apply, simply submit a brief Expression of Interest setting out your musical background and interest in choral singing to Membership Secretary, Ann Berkovitch: membershipsecretary@bfc.org.uk.
Applications for the Belfield Bursaries are ongoing as of November 2021. We look forward to hearing from any young tenors to whom the opportunity might be of interest and to welcoming new Tenors from January 2022.
