BFYC sing the Sound Track for BAFTA winning, Oscar nominated film, Wander to Wonder!

The animated film Wander to Wonder by Dutch director Nina Gantz was awarded a BAFTA Award on Sunday. The film, also in the running for an Oscar, won in the category of Best Animated Short Film.  The film brings us into a fantastical yet curiously nostalgic world where miniature performers Mary, Billybud and Fumbleton are left rudderless on the set of a children’s television show whose creator has passed away. While the three fight against hunger and grief, they struggle on and make increasingly strange episodes for their fans.

With their amazing energy, creative flair and wonderful singing, BFYC recorded the sound track from W2W in Brighton in 2023. Terence Dunn, a member of Brighton Festival Chorus said “It was wonderful working with Juliette and the talented Brighton Festival Youth Choir. They were extremely accommodating, bringing the score to life and making the recording session a fabulous experience’. Director, Nina Gantz added “They elevated the film in a way that I couldn’t have ever imagined!”

BFYC Founder and Music Director, Juliette Pochin commented “When Brighton Festival Youth Choir were approached to record the soundtrack for Wander to Wonder by Nina and Terence, we thought it looked fantastic and would be a really fun experience for us as a choir, but we never imagined we would be recording for a BAFTA winning film! Such a thrill to have played a small part in this and huge congratulations to Nina, Terence and the team”

We wish Nina, Terence and the whole Wander to Wonder team the very best of luck for this weekend’s Oscars. We will all be cheering you on from Brighton!
